La Crosse offers a number of fun activities for your family to enjoy during the holiday season in Wisconsin. Here are just three holiday events that are worth attending this December.
La Crosse Wisconsin Rotary Lights
Have a merry and bright holiday when you witness the La Crosse Wisconsin Rotary Lights at Riverside Park. The event is open to the public on select evenings from Nov. 29 through Dec. 31, so make sure to check the schedule as you plan your visit. You can walk, drive or take a carriage ride through the park as you take in the light displays. There are also hayrides, live music, breakfast with Santa and live reindeer at the event.
The Rose Ensemble at St. Rose Convent
Catch The Rose Ensemble’s seasonal concert “And Glory Shone Around: An Early American Christmas” at the St. Rose Convent on the evening of Dec. 14. The group’s vocalists will pair with instrumentalists to perform a program of Shaker hymns, Appalachian ballads, colonial carols and bluegrass compositions.
Cheers Big Band Holiday Dance and Waltz Lesson

The J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study named the Nissan Maxima® as the top-ranked vehicle in the Large Car segment. This is the second year in a row that the car is receiving this recognition.
The J.D. Power 2019 APEAL Study surveys new vehicle lessees and purchasers and has them evaluate their new vehicles across 77 different attributes. The combined results create an overall APEAL score for the vehicles.
The Nissan Maxima® also recently earned the top ranking in the 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study Large Car segment. Only a total of seven vehicles received both awards in 2019.
The Nissan Maxima® wasn’t the only vehicle from the Nissan lineup to receive recognition in the 2019 APEAL study. The Nissan Altima® tied with two other vehicles for best Midsize Car. In each of their categories, the Nissan Murano®, Armada®, and TITAN® also performed above the non-premium APEAL average.
When looking at the vehicles with the fewest overall problems, the TITAN® tied for seventh in the study. Plus, in the “Large Light Duty Pickup” segment, the truck won the title of the best performer.
See for yourself why the Nissan Maxima® and the other Nissan vehicles performed well in the J.D. Power 2019 APEAL Study when you take the vehicles out for test drives at Pischke Motors Nissan.
Nissan and EVgo have been working together to provide reliable, accessible charging stations across America. Recently, the companies announced that they were adding 200 direct current fast chargers to make charging easier and more convenient.
Nissan and EVgo have had a 6-year partnership, so it makes sense that they are coming together for this joint investment. Since 2010, Nissan has installed over 2,000 quick charge connectors in the U.S. Currently, over 100 million Americans could drive from where they live to an EVgo fast charger within just 15 minutes.
EVgo and Nissan are also working together to inform American drivers about all the positives that come as a result of driving an electric vehicle. They are raising awareness with a co-marketing program that specifically showcases the Nissan LEAF® PLUS, which provides a range of up to 226 miles.*
In addition to highlighting the Nissan LEAF® PLUS, the co-marketing program will also showcase the over 1,200 public fast chargers in the EVgo network along with the fast-charging capability.
We at Pischke Motors Nissan are excited for more chargers to be added and for owning an electric vehicle to be even more convenient. Take a test drive in the Nissan LEAF® and learn about the benefits of electric vehicles.
* Does not apply to all LEAF models. EPA range estimate up to 226 miles for 2019 LEAF PLUS S only. As shown, 2019 LEAF [SL/SV] PLUS EPA range estimate 215 miles. Actual range will vary within trim levels, options, and driving conditions; see Customer Disclosure Form for details.
While American roads are currently dominated by big trucks and SUVs great for growing families, it seems young buyers want to drive something else: sedans. Nissan discovered this in a recent survey where 8 in 10 young millennials who don’t currently own a sedan said they would consider buying one in the future.
Thanks to this research and other factors, Nissan has plans to keep going strong with its sedan lineup, unlike many other automotive brands. In fact, Nissan is expanding its global lineup of all-new sedans. You can see this with the all-new 2019 Altima and the all-new 2020 Sylphy for the Chinese market.
“Our newest sedans speak directly to the needs of buyers, particularly young people who may be looking to buy their first car,” said Ivan Espinosa, Nissan’s corporate vice president of global product strategy and planning. “As some of our competitors walk away from sedans, we’re seizing the opportunity.”
With these new sedan models, Nissan is introducing some of its most advanced technology. The Altima is available with the Nissan ProPILOT Assist system. This includes a variety of advanced safety aids. In addition, the Altima is available with VC-Turbo. This is the first production-ready variable compression ratio engine that delivers both exceptional power and efficiency.
If you’re ready to drive a nimble sedan, come visit us at Pischke Nissan. We’ll help you find the model that’s right for you.
Traveling with turkey, a scrumptious side dish, or dessert during the holiday season can be a risky proposition. Avoid spills in your car or your lap by heeding our tips for traveling with food this Thanksgiving.
Turkey or Ham
If you have been tasked with cooking a delicious turkey or ham for your family’s Thanksgiving get-together, kudos to you. That’s no easy task. However, don’t let a fast turn down a city street ruin all that work. Instead of attempting to keep it hot in a large dish that could easily spill, cook your turkey or ham the day before, slice it, and store it in smaller containers. Bring these containers to the party in a cooler and heat it up at your destination.
Don’t let your delicious sweet potato casserole overturn on your back seat. Instead, put a lid on the dish and place it in a laundry basket. Then, fill it with towels so the dish can’t move. As an added bonus, the towels will keep the casserole dish warm for your eager eaters.
Whether it’s pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, or even peanut butter pie, your family and friends will be eager to try your dessert. Ensure it arrives safely by using an extra metal pie tin as a lid for your pie. Tape it on to protect the pie, and use tin foil to further seal the lid on.
Of course, the generally unspoken rule is to drive carefully – holidays are a busy travel time. Above all, if your vehicle needs some attention or just needs replaced, come visit us at Pischke Nissan.
We’re breezing through fall, which means winter is right around the corner. Here’s how to get your car ready for winter before the cold weather hits.
- Bring your car in for routine maintenance: Schedule an oil change and tire rotation at Pischke Nissan. While you’re in, ask us to test your battery to ensure it will last through winter. We can also inspect your tire tread and your brakes to ensure you’ll be able to stop in snowy and icy conditions.
- Increase visibility: Check all exterior lights to ensure none have burnt out, and replace windshield wiper blades if they are leaving streaks.
- Test your heater: Before the temperatures drop, make sure your heater and defroster work. If they don’t, schedule an appointment to repair them as soon as possible.
- Replace your windshield washer fluid and switch to antifreeze: Make sure your wiper fluid and your coolant in the radiator can handle winter’s low temperatures.
- Design an emergency kit: You should have an emergency kit in your vehicle year-round, but it is especially important in the winter. It should include batteries, a flashlight, a phone charger, blankets, coats, hats, gloves, flares, an ice scraper, water, food, jumper cables, and some basic tools.
Winter can be rough here in Wisconsin, but we’re here to help make sure your vehicle continues carrying you safely, even if that means you need a new one. We hope to see you soon here at Pischke Nissan.
There are many benefits to forgoing that new car smell and buying a used vehicle instead, but it’s also important to do it right. With Nissan Certified Pre-Owned, you can buy a new-to-you vehicle without worrying if you’re going to have to spend all the money you just saved on repairs later down the line.
That’s because when you see a Nissan with the CPO sticker on our lot, it means it has a clean CARFAX title history (which will be provided to you) and already passed a 167-point comprehensive vehicle inspection carried out by Nissan Trained Technicians. Furthermore, only vehicles less than six years old and with fewer than 80,000 miles may qualify for the program.
Once a car is Nissan Certified Pre-Owned, buying it comes with a number of perks. You’ll get a factory-backed, 7-year/100,000-mile Limited Warranty that covers the engine, transmission, and drivetrain, and when you bring the car in for service at our Nissan-certified repair facilities, we’ll only use genuine Nissan replacement parts should you need them.
Other perks include 24-hour roadside assistance, a SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio customer trial, and, for covered repairs, towing assistance and rental car reimbursement. In other words, buying Nissan Certified Pre-Owned earns you the savings of buying used but the peace of mind of buying new.

Are you and your family most content when you are exploring the great outdoors? Then pack up your Nissan Titan, head out of the driveway, and set your sights on one of our state’s many great outdoor destinations. Not sure where to start? These are the four best outdoor locations in Wisconsin:
- Apostle Islands National Lakeshore: If you and your loved ones could spend all day fishing, kayaking, and swimming, then take a trip to the Apostle Islands. You’ll find a number of beaches and places to relax, but true adventurers will want to explore the sea caves.
- Devil’s Lake State Park: Wisconsin’s most visited state park is Devil’s Lake, a spring-fed lake surrounded by 500-foot bluffs that were formed 1.6 billion years ago. Experienced rock climbers will find great challenges here.
- Big Manitou Falls: One of the most beautiful spots in Wisconsin is Big Manitou Falls, a 165-foot waterfall, located in Pattison State Park. This is the fourth-tallest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains.
- Chain O’Lakes: If you thought one lake was enough, how about 28 all at once? The Chain O’Lakes is a series of interconnected lakes—the largest inland chain of lakes on earth. Spend some time exploring in canoes or kayaks.
Of course, if you need a new Titan to take you to these scenic outdoor locales, make sure to stop in at Pischke Nissan in La Crosse.
Each summer, millions of American tourists flock to beaches in California and Florida and along the east coast. But ocean towns are often crowded and overrated, which is why many tourists load up their Nissan Titan and head to America’s awesome lakes for summer vacation. Here are the best lakeside road trip destinations in Wisconsin:
- Milwaukee: A little over 200 miles east of Pischke Nissan sits the major city of Milwaukee. There’s plenty to do on Lake Michigan there, but you also have access to the city’s top attractions, like the Milwaukee Art Museum, Lakefront Brewery, and taking in a Brewers game.
- Manitowoc: A little over an hour north and up the coast from Milwaukee is Manitowoc, which is also called Wisconsin’s Maritime Capital because of its history of shipbuilding. While there, make sure to grab a scoop (or several more) of ice cream at Cedar Crest Specialties.
- Green Bay: NFL fans will recognize this city as home to the famous Green Bay Packers, but the city is great for more than just football. Visitors here enjoy boating, hiking, golfing, and fishing—or just eating some delicious cheese. Green Bay also has plenty of other activities, including the National Railroad Museum and the Children’s Museum of Green Bay.
Of course, if you need a new vehicle for your summer road trip to the lake, we have you covered here at Pischke Nissan.
